As humankind’s most intimate and nurturing companions in nature, both water and trees provide for us in countless essential ways, and this “Ode to Water and Trees” exhibition is meant to honor them and express the great wonder and profound gratitude they inspire.

Savarese does not aim for perfect replication of what she sees with her camera. Instead, she views her encounters with nature as sacred, and strives to reveal the profound connection between nature’s offerings and her own inner self—their beauty and consolation reflecting her own aspirations, sorrows, memories, and beliefs. She is especially drawn to nature’s many abstract and painterly renderings, and loves seeking out their metaphoric content and layering in her own emotions through occasional manipulations of color and light.
